Routine

We are open 50 weeks a year Monday to Friday from 7.45am to 6.15pm.  We are closed on all Bank Holidays and for two weeks at Christmas. 

Our nursery day is organised around the following timetable, but we are flexible so that babies can replicate the eating and sleeping patterns of that at home.  At Barnbabies, all babies are encouraged to sit together around the table during meal times to support their social skills.

7.45am to 9.00am - Children arrive and participate in child-led activities

9.00am to 10.00am - In each individual room a variety of activities are explored.

10.00am to 10.30am - Snack Time – we provide a range of snacks which vary throughout the week, these include: crackers and raisins, toast and fresh fruit along with a cup of milk or water.

10.30am to 12.00 midday - Combination of outdoor play, messy and creative exploration,  music and movement, cooking and interactive play.

12.00 midday to 1.00pm - Lunch Time – a two course hot cooked meal is freshly prepared by our in-house cook every day.  Special dietary requirements are catered for in full.

1.00pm to 3.30pm - Rest period with either nap time or quiet play including books and puzzles

3.30pm to 4.15pm - Tea Time – we provide a selection of savoury sandwiches followed by fresh fruit and home-made cake.  Drinks are provided with a choice of either apple juice or water.  Young babies are offered a variation of fruit or vegetables either pureed or mashed.

4.15pm to 6.15pm - Wind Down including stories, shape sorters, building bricks, puzzles and imaginative play
