We wish you all a slightly belated ‘Happy New Year’ and would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your lovely gifts and cards, it was very kind of you all!
As many of you are aware we had our Ofsted Inspection just before Christmas and I can happily tell you we received a ‘Good’ grading. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff, the children and you the parents for your continued support and contributions from home; this helped greatly with our partnership with parents. If you would like to see a copy of the report, you can find a hard copy in the main nursery entrance or online http://reports.ofsted.gov.uk/inspection-reports/find-inspection-report/provider/CARE/204042
Exciting Garden Equipment News
We are planning to have some new wooden climbing equipment built in our beautiful garden in the near future ready for the dry Spring months, watch this space.
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome a male to our team! Darren Morrell joined us mid way through January, although he is no stranger to the nursery as he worked here previously 10 years ago in the kitchen and at kid’s club, he has also been our valued handyman in recent times too!
The children are certainly enjoying having a big boy in the group!
We are continuing to recruit for a full time member but please be rest assured that our well-established team is caring for your children to the high standards we always have done.
Other staff training that will be undertaken this year include: The Role of the ENCO, Role of the SEND. Designated Safe Guarding Level 3 and Paediatric first aid. Claire Simpson also plans to start a Leadership and Management Level 3 Course.
Non-Attendance of Children
It is now considered a Safe Guarding issue if a child fails to turn up at nursery on their scheduled days. If your child is unwell or simply having a ‘day off’ then please contact the nursery either by phone or email by 9.30am so that we can log this on our daily register; if you do not make contact, then we will be contacting you.
Music Time with BoogieWoogies
After our successful Christmas concerts last year, we are continuing to have fortnightly visits from Sarah with her amazing music and movement workshops which the children thoroughly enjoy!
Library/Trips in the Mini-Bus
In our November newsletter there was a permission slip in regards to the children travelling on the mini-bus, if you haven’t already done so could you please send them back into the nursery, thank you!
We would be very grateful if you could give us some ideas of what your children are enjoying in the way of hot meals at home. We would like to change some of our nursery lunch menus and would really appreciate your input.
We shall be asking you to complete a questionnaire in the near future and would very much appreciate your views about the nursery, the activities we offer, what we might do better and any suggestions to improve our practice. These questionnaires will be anonymous and we would appreciate your input.
May we please remind all parents that your child does need a named woolley hat and gloves and a warm coat for the colder months, we no longer supply winter hats due to the risk of head lice, thank you for your understanding in this matter.
Due to Ofsted guidelines we are not permitted to keep paracetamol or ibuprofen based products within nursery, if your child is in need of either of these whilst in our care then please provide your own, thank you. If your child has needed either of the above in the night then please do inform a staff member in the morning so they can note a time it was last given.
Could we please remind you that we do require 4 weeks’ notice if you wish to change or terminate your child’s place at nursery in writing after consultation with the manager (Vicky) in line with our policy, thank you.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your ongoing support, it is very much appreciated, as are any ideas or suggestions you may have, please feel free to share them.
